(NASDAQ: AMGN) announced that the United States (U.S.) Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved Nplate™ (romiplostim), the first and only platelet producer for the treatment of thrombocytopenia in splenectomized (spleen removed) and non-splenectomized adults with chronic immune thrombocytopenic purpura (ITP).
